I am Simo Hännikkälä, CEO of Nursebuddy. We help home care companies manage their daily work and deliver better care through our software in the UK and Finland. We work in a field where technology has to be both reliable and constantly evolving, and where usability has to be top-notch.
Where we started: A need for a new level and efficiency
Our work with Curious began from a desire to get the full benefit of AI in our software development. We knew the world is changing fast and we did not want to watch from the sidelines. More than tools: A new meaning for planning
Curious gave us an understanding of how modern software development and AI work seamlessly together. The way our team uses AI, and our know-how around it, is on a completely new level.
When AI is part of the process, precise specification and documentation matter more. We have adopted AI-driven technical planning. We have also rewritten our architecture documentation to be compatible with AI agents, so it updates automatically as code changes are made.
When technology speeds up, the value of communication grows
The results of our collaboration show up directly in our daily work. We got test automation running for the mobile app and delivered customer orders at speed. In one case we had budgeted two days for a customer task, but the first version, which exceeded expectations, was ready in just two hours.
We also produced extensive regulatory documentation entirely with AI, working from a long requirements list. The AI handled finding code-level evidence, capturing technical data flows, and taking UI screenshots completely on its own. On top of that, the machine also produced the data flow diagrams and the data-model description.
Although the technology has advanced, communication between people has become even more important. We have noticed that the team needs to communicate more and that we need more frequent checkpoints on the direction of the work. We have cut down on unnecessary Jira churn, but at the same time our effort estimates have become more accurate.

For me, Curious has offered a window into what is happening at the cutting edge of software development right now. It is reassuring to know we have the best possible methods at our disposal and a clear understanding of how the AI world is evolving.
